to those in retail

Then drop them as an account. I understand more than you think. You are more than happy to take their business and their payments, but arent willing to act in a manner befitting a loyal vendor.
Exactly how does Wal Mart treat their vendors badly?
you thinks its my decesion what accounts we have. I just go where I'm told to deliver on my route sheet.

then you don't understand how walmart treats their vendors. If you dealt with them you'd understand that you want to get in and get out of there. No vendor likes going to a walmart. Its a fact. Vendors even discuss it when there is not walmart employees around. The company makes you not want to deal with their customers. If I like the account then I am more than happy to help their customers but wal mart is a living nightmare to deal with
LOL proof or ban. Take an impartial unbiased survey of all vendors right now with the result being 100% with no margin of error showing that vendors don't like to go to Wal Mart.

You wont, you can't.

you thinks its my decesion what accounts we have. I just go where I'm told to deliver on my route sheet.
Then you owe it to your boss to treat the vendors, and their customers, with respect. You talk about making more money than Wal Mart employees, you seem to think you are above talking to people. You aren't.

I currently am running professionally, but I work at a running shop to get some extra money to get by on.

I just graduated from Wisconsin with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, so to say the least, I am educated.

I was dealing with the **** that said he owned a business and wanted a discount because of that.....I obviously told him no.

I then try him on in the correct type of shoe, which he proceeds to flip out at me for. He started yelling when there were 4 other customers and I was single staffed. He yells "What the **** are you trying to put on my feet? If you asked me if I would buy this shoe right now, I would say **** no."

I then proceeded to tell him that he needed to calm down or I would have to ask him to leave. Then I explained that I was trying him on in what are called stability shoes, and we like to find out what size to go with for a customer by trying them on in a single shoe model in different sizes before pulling others to compare to in order to find the right shoe.

He then tells me "I'm a business owner and this is not how to do good business. You need to speak to me educated. What kind of highschool dropouts do you hire here?"

I then tell him "I am the mannager, now get the **** out of my store."

Then the guy has the audacity to ask for the owners contact information. Keep in mind, I run professionally for the owners, and we both help eachother out financially. They get pro runners to work for them, and we get some extra income.

So I write the guy their cell phones and e-mails, and tell him, "go ahead. It'll make a nice story for them to tell me."

And he actually called them. He's now on our "not welcome in the store" list.

****in idiots like that all day long in retail.

Haha, I'm a mannager and I do that shit all the time. But then again, all of us are acting mannagers when we're at the stores.

So anytime anyone comes in asking for a mannager, we just point to the other guy working there. People get so pissed.

I don't know why customers always walk into retail stores thinking that the employees there are somehow beneath them or something. A lot of people that work in retail are well educated and either work there just to make some extra money or haven't been able to find work because of the economy. Working in retail shows you how many douches and dumbasses live amongst us.

I think I'm in the minority because I used to work in retail and it was really fun because of the people I worked with and I was like 16-17 so we just really didn't care very much lol. I have sooooooooo many stories of all the fun crazy stuff we used to do. Aside from the pay it was the best job I've ever had.

btw our budget got cut so bad this month i practically am not working at all. i really cant understand it being that the entire year of 2009 we were well over 110% of our labor budget and at the end of every day. cant speak for the other stores, but i can see mine is running itself into the ground.
Ditto. I went from 6 days a week to about one a week. Luckily it's just a second job, but they are kind of dicking people bad.

One employee managed to get over 20 ipods stolen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

When your in any business, whether it be retail or sales or any other type, your in the CUSTOMER SERVICE business. So when a ******* walks in demanding stuff and talking down on you it's because he feels that is what he/she is paying for. I'm not saying it's right but that's just how it is anymore. I work in the beverage industry and I've seen some crazy stuff in C-stores and grocery.

That's what's good about where I'm at. People think we're in the "customer service" business. But I'm not there for that. My job is to help people find the correct shoe type to fix biomechanical problems, etc.

So when someone comes in my place like that.....Well, I just give them shit right back. The owner, and I, don't cdare if they ever come back. The store rakes in over 3 million per year, and has VERY low overhead.

My parents have a cell phone store.... guy buys a phone, comes back in a few days later and says, "This phone is messed up, every time I press this button and hold it, it shuts off!"

"Sir.... that's the power button."

True story.
