To DAC or not to DAC, that is the question

Hi all! I currently have a C-DSP 6x8 controlling an active two way front stage and a subwoofer. I’m feeding it a stereo high level signal from the stock head unit (to retain Bluetooth phone calls), and a low level stereo connection straight from a 3.5mm source. I’m currently toying around with the idea of using a windows tablet as my main musical source. Would I be better off going with a USB to digital coax and letting the C-DSP do the digital to analogue conversion, or getting a USB DAC?

let the minidsp do all the conversion.
