eclipse are a little bit better than alpine and i believe they use 6 or 8 volt pre-outs, compared to alpines 4v.

either way you look at it.. if you get an eclipse head unit... you got a top of the line head unit.

im bout to just work my *** of and get the eclipse 8443, 2 12a's (depending on vehicle i get by june) a couple of avinoxx amps, some adire kodas and do the cleanest install possible. im going for sq with alot of output...

No. I've been wondering where it's at since I bought the thing.

I agree, eclipse is good. But I don't think they're as good as alpine, they're just the only other brand that can even compare. The cheaper headunits are much better than the cheaper alpines, in power and processing. But over all I like the perfect control all alpines give, and that allow for a better full sound from your drivers. So I'm indifferent, but my 7998 when I get it, will be much better than any eclipse that exists currently. :p

**** thats almost the setup Im looking at. Getting the 8443 now and the next thing to buy will be the kodas. I finally decided to stop buying better and better inferior equpment as soon as i could afford it and just decided to go for top of the line. (within reason for a 19 year old college student of course)

Ofcourse Eclipses need very little tweaking to sound excellent. A 7998 "much better" than any eclipse that currently exists?...maybe in features but surely not in sound quality.
