Hi all,

Why do some amplifiers have fuses and some don't? I know the main inline fuse by the battery is required for short protection but what's the amp fuse for? If it's for amplifier protection instead of wire protection shouldn't they all have them?

The fuse, at the battery, is to protect the wire. The fuse in the amp is to protect the amp.

Like Old_Slapper said. In addition, some amps do not have fuses to cut down manufacturing costs which simplifies the design as well. Others do not have them because of the huge fuse rating.
