Tired of no front stage...

I've been happy with my kappa's in the back dash of my car till now. I miss having nice comps up front, by my current beater just has nowhere for anything in the front. No room for putting anything in the doors, no room for pods, and no kick panels since it's filled with electrical crap on both sides. Also not even going to mess with the dash, car is just my beater so not putting any ridiculous time of money into it.

I was wondering if I put some decent tweets mounted on the dash, or possible somewhere else surface mounted on axis if possible would help give me somewhat of a front stage, or would it be total crap without any mid-range?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

No room for anything at all. Best I could come up with is possibly squeezing some 3.5's in some custom fiberglass pods and putting them on the back of the floorboards at an angle, but again, that's more time and $ I'm willing to invest.

This is for my 1977 Datsun 810.

Well if going with tweeter idea I was planning on about $100, but don't plan on doing anything over $150

Just my dd beater so nothin fancy. Just not having a front stage with minimal channel separation is bugging the hell out of me.

I have a set of these I pulled out of my Mustang I'm gonna sale you can PM me if intrested....they come with crossovers and play an octive lower than any other tweeters...I used the surface angle mount held by double sticky tape....I still have a set in my CRX only reason I'm changing in the Mustang is I'm going to horns.....

You can fit kicks. We did a set of 5.25 Focal K2Ps in the kicks of an authentic Bluebird last year...
Got any pics? I'm tryin to keep it simple and with minimal customization as possible.

What year was the bluebird?

I'll get you some tomorrow...can you fiberglass?
Not very experienced myself but I know someone. Thanks that woikd be great.

So what year was it? Actual jap bluebird or americanized maxima? Sedan or coupe? I've always wanted a coupe.

Mines the 77 with round headlights and jap lookin grill

Hah I did a quick google image search and found it. It was a 71: Datsun Bluebird Front View Photo 2

That is his old system though. The car is fricken amazing. The new system consists of the Focal 5.25" K2Ps in the kicks, 6.5 Coax K2P in the rear deck and one 10" K-series sub, powered by an Audison LRx5.1k and Audison bit one. I forgot which HU they did, I think Kenwood DNX-9120. Sound Innovations in Hayward did the install, you may have heard of them from Car Audio Mag. I worked there summer of 2009, but still stop by a couple times a week to hang out with the guys and check out what they're working on. I can get you the install log tomorrow...

Very nice. I love old datsuns. Miss my '71 240z. Kept up with a porche down the pacific coast highway all the way down, till we hit a straightaway where he just left me lol. Thanks alot that'd be awesome.

Another option is to run some 3" full range driver like in this thread: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/car-audio-build-logs-cars-trucks-suvs/498750-project-spaghetti.html
Then do some 5.25 or 6.5 in the kicks for midbass, or even under the seats. Don't cross them much higher than 300hz and you'll be fine...
I MIGHT be able to do similar to those 3" drivers, not sure if I'd want to though lol. I really can't figure how I'd fit anything in the kicks though.
