Tips for wrapping a box in vinyl?

I have never used vinyl/leather on a box before and have a bunch laying around that matches my new car. I would like to make a false floor, amp rack, and cover my woofer box in it.

Just wondering if anyone had any tips as far as routering the wood (?) or just tips on laying it out.

Thanks

Honestly if you have never done it before I highly recommend paying a pro to do it.

Vinyl is pretty tough to work with and get to look correct.

The biggest tip I can offer is have lots of patience, extra material, a heat gun and industrial spray glue. No aerosol can bullshit.

indeed

this was my first try. It would have been much easier with better glue. but a heat gun, and some decent vinyl helps a lot.

looks like the same ish that i picked up from wal mart for 6 a yard ahwile back.

you can lay some batting under it, it will help hide most, if not all imperfections caused by screws/glue runs/etc.
