Tips For Sellers

I get tired of seeing people buy stuff on forums and then end up waiting forever for their item to be shipped. Not only is it a stress on the person but also becomes a problem for the entire forum(such as hate threads and whatnot). I just thought I would share a few common sense ideas to potential sellers(since many have showed they do not possess such skills)

1. Keep good communication with your buyer. This cannot be stressed enough. If you say you are going to ship Tuesday and something comes up to where you can't ship until Thursday, LET THEM KNOW!!! Many situations can be avoided by simply taking the time to talk to your buyer.

2. They are your customers. I have seen on some sales, the seller treats his buyer like crap just because he is anxious about where his item is. Remember, your reputation is on the line with every sale. If a buyer is in need of answers, try your best to give them to him.

3. Do not spend their money!! This is a good rule to follow. You have to realize, until they receive the item, that money in your pocket is theirs. It is good to set the money aside and wait until they get the item. Many things can come up. There have been countless threads to the tune of "oh i havent received the item, its been a month and i want a refund but he spent the money!!!". I know you may have bills to pay but can they not wait for 4 days until the buyer gets the item?

4. Stick to your word. I know this may be included in the previous points but I would like to stress it again. If you say you are going to do something, do it!!! Nobody is going to care what situations came up, if you had to work long hours, or for whatever other excuse. If you give someone your word then you had better get it done at all costs. I have sold many items on ebay and have lost money on sales by making sure the customer is pleased.

5. List all problems with the item. This is just plain common sense but sometimes people sugar coat the description just to sell their item faster. If the sub has a scratch or whatever, make it known. It's not worth the hassle of the buyer getting the item and complaining that their are problems that werent listed. Many times I have read that buyers get something that was described as in perfect condition and something was broken on it. The seller often says oh its any easy fix, not a big deal. Yes, it is a big deal. If you are going to describe an item a certain way, it better come to the buyer that way.

These are just a few tips for potential sellers or for sellers that need to brush up on their selling skills. Feel free to make additional suggestions. Let me know if you think this will be helpful

Great advice. Right now I'm in a situation as i'm waiting 2 weeks + , but the guy has been keeping in contact with me and doing everything he can...Very understandable on my part, and i been happy that he's responding to me, as that's all I ask.. Shit happens, and as long as you explain the situation, and keep in contact, everything should work out fine...

Yeah man, ive been in too many of these situations. Im in one right now where I paid for a sub 3 weeks ago and the guy keeps saying hes waiting for the money to get to him. I sent it paypal and it says it was completed 2 weeks ago. I called paypal and they said yep he has the money. I told him and he said i need to STFU bcuz paypal doesnt know shiiit. He finally shipped it Friday. People just seem to lack so much common sense these days

did you agree that is was ok for him to physically wait to get the money from Paypal? If not, then that is a shady seller.

Care to give a name?

He told me he was going to wait for the money and I said ok(paypal only takes at most 4 days to transfer to your account). Well supposedly it took over 2 weeks for him but paypal is telling me it was transferred in the week I sent it. He isnt on this forum.
