Tips for a Robb-Free Installation...

The main thing to keep in mind is out of sight out of mind. Don't advertise with steal me stickers. And buy an alarm. But i got to add the disclaimer.... If someone wants it bad enough they are going to get it, no matter what you do. That's the part that sucks the worst. Putting all your time and hard earned money into your system. Only to have it stolen by some crack head idiot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

THX guys... That sticker thing or look like a demo car is a good one...

What about installing amps under seats...well at least take them more time...

if they cant find it they cant steal it. try using hex or tor (sp?) bolts any thing besides a normal phillips or standard screw. keep the system low or off any time your about to park the car and leave for a bit. just a few ideas, hope it helps!

Originally posted by bootleg If you make your stuff really hard to steal they'll just thrash the stuff they can't rip off.
my view is that id rather them trash stuff than get away with it. cuz then they cant sell them, and they dont get any reward for breaking into my vehicle (other than jail time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif).

some other things you can do:

make sure to get AGREED VALUE coverage. you paid 3920 bux, they reimburse you 3920 bux. they cant devalue your stuff.

also, using non standard screws/bolts helps, as does filling the holes with solder. who is gonna take the time to use a soldering gun on a smash & grab job? most likely, they wont get away with any of your gear. and even if they do trash it, they dont get rewarded. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

A week ago my cousins car got brokin into but lucky for him we were up watching a movie and we heard the window smash and then we ran out the door he has a bat always at his door and he had the bat, i'm a fast runner so I cought up to one kid gave him a few hits in the face with my fist ( I wish I had the bat ) , but they got away and we know who the kids are and when we find them we gonna put em in the hospital. and my cousin has 2 15" Eclipse with JBL 1200.1. He's gonna get alarm soon and other anti theft things. usally sleep with your window open too, if you dont have a garage.

it dont matter how hard u try, theives can find away, but if they're stupid then thell mess up, and there are plenty kids that think they can do it, and i know because i had freinds that tryed and got busted, i use to steal then i realized how stupid it was and havent done it for a while but SERIOUSLY if there is a theiv like i was, there are plenty ways to get around alarms and everything else....... just for input

tips though that will help prevent

a led- even if u dont have an alarm

an alarm- a good one, not one that only goes off if the doors open, there are alarms that dont go off when windows break

bolt everything down- andi mean everything

take cds, face, tvs anything inside the house at all times : radars, cds, anything out will get a theiv looking at your car

keep all wires running hidden at all times, dont leave even 2 inches out where u think people wont look, if he is smart, he will look in usual places, door jams, under seats, near back seats....etc

if possible, run a chain through your trunk (if u have a car) with a padlock, most theives will not have cutters with them if they dont know u have a chain/lock

hope this helps, i know it should

yeah i know how you feel in wanting security. some shit head(s) stole my alum 12x and about 90 percent of my cd collection a month or 2 ago. I'm planning on sacking up and paying 50 dollars for those security screws and getting insurance on my stereo. I'm kind of lucky to live in a small town were most of the thieves are stupid crack heads and a sticker saying you have a alarm would most likely scare them off, the alarm going off would definetely scare them off and them finding out they don't have the right stuff to get to it would definetely make them be like **** this. even though i'm going to do a flamboyant install i'm only going to show it to my friends and people at stereo events ect.

oh yeah i forgot not really bump my system that loud until i see some body with a ghetto system (no sound deadning 1000 watt peak power amp by somebody you've never heard of before 2 15's with the magnet the size of the ones on my component set and a plywood box) and show'em what a real system sounds like

If you want a fool proof alarm install let me know. I have had 12 attempts to steal my stuff/ demo truck. but the alarm has not failed yet. Very thought out plan that is fool proof.

I will be glad to get the drawings from my shop monday, they are not really detailed. It was designed to work on almost any car. It has it's own electrical system and intergrated circutis that monitor the pressure inside the SUV. When the air pressure changes inside the suv ( doors opens, close, window breaks, etc,) The alarm sounds through the siren (inside and outside) along with the horn.Thugs have tried to short out the frame, cut wires, etc. but no luck. Will post it asap.

here's how you do it...u build a dog house in your car...and put a nice big great dane, or rott. or 2 in there at night while you sleep.....i got 2 danes.......they go in my garage at night w/ my car....i pitty the person that tries to get to my car....heh
