TINY amplifiers?

Thread revival, woo!

Actually, this project was abandoned in favor of a tube amp. Which every time I replace a faulty part, it makes it obvious something else is wrong with it. =\ Either way, I don't really need another one, but I might try building a CMOY for fun, as long as I can build one that will handle 16 volts.

What's up with the amp?

I recently bought and am restoring almost the identical project you have - dual pentode-connected 6BQ5's with a 6CA4 rectifier. Let me know if you've got any questions on it...although I'm mostly doing cosmetic work for now, haven't really torn into the guts of it yet.

Well, I removed the pots and replaced them, that helped A LOT. An incredible amount. Then I replaced the caps, and something odd happened. The music cleared up a hell of a good amount, but the buzz that I thought was bad caps got worse! I'm currently not using it, the buzz got so incredibly bad. I'm accusing the power supply, a huge transformer, for the problem as of right now, but I plan on working on it's ground connections first.

I need to get a new soldering Iron. The Radio Shack ones are complete junk. *grr*
