Time Warner Cable Lite users chime in!

I'm wanting to get cable internet in my dorm, and I was thinkin about gettin the TWC Lite package... its up to 1.5 MBPS and its $29.99 a month.... now if it was truely 1.5mbps I would be thrilled, but it says regular cable internet is up to 7 MBPS and I know thats not true because I could only squeeze out 500-600 KBPS download...

Does anyone on here actually have the lite package and tell me real world speeds? I do download alot of movies , tv shows, but I dont mind leaving my computer on 24/7...

It is true 1.5mb, there is a difference between Mb and MB

1.5 megabit(Mb) = 192 kilobytes(KB)

7 megabit(Mb) = 896 kilobytes(KB)

10Mb=1.2MB

Correct you get 5.7megabits but if you were to download usually its rated in Kilobytes or Megabytes in which case you wouldnt get 6.0 unless you have 48megabit cable which isnt out except like trial Fios in Minneapolis

The reason its not true to what its rated is because not every server is capable of providing that amount of bandwidth (4-5mbps seems to be average). But 1.5mbps should be reletively easy to cap and I think you would be fin with that if you are indeed happy with that amount of bandwidth (i wouldnt be...)

All the lite customers ive dealt with ..get what the pay for ...My financee mom gets 1.7 ...and you know where i work..
