Time for new subs

Well i got 2 12's l7's but i am thinking of trying something different. My box i have is made fo two 12's square's but i can make a new top to add circle subs.

My box specs are 5.65 after port displacement i have 5.48. My port is only one 6" aero.

So what new subs would be the best in that box on 1500rms a zx1500.1 is all i have at the moment. Will add more power if needed down the road.

Budget is around 400 for the pair. need them in dual 2 ohms

if you want good clean sound (way better than the L7 were) and the same or more spl then try the new hifonics atlas squares. they crush the kickers all day and are alot better on sq but they only come in dvc4ohm.

depending on your box tuning an XXV 1612 dvc would work but you dont have enough amp to push 2 of them.

RE makes amazing subs as well.

you could also do 3 10" ground pounder (old style) or brutus subs in that enclosure really well and wire them like this:

it really depends on how the box is tuned.

theres a problem there

add a second 6 inch aero if you can. the length will change alot (longer), so it might not be possible. it would bring volume down to 5 or maybe a little under. you could do a single 15.

only got room for 2 subs or 1. Also my box is 28 long x 33 high x 13.5 wide, the subs are mounted facing up with port back and the subs are mounted on the 13.5 wide part and dont have any other way to get more port area also with aeros you can do half the 12-16 per cub so 6-8 per cub i have 28 so i am barely cutting it

looking into RE sx's or Fi ssd's

in my opinion, you have more of a box issue, then a sub issue. it might work okay with lower powered applications, but it's not enough port area for what you're wanting to do. imo. i don't think you will improve your system much by switching subs into the same box.

you think those ssd's in the same box which is 5.48 before sub displacement so after will be 5.2 net tuned to 33hz with one 6" aero on 1500rms u think those will be as loud or louder than the l7's

no. you are actually losing cone area, and not increasing power, and still have a box with too little port area.

Ok well i know the cone area i am losing slightly bc of the square. However down the road I would like to grab another zx1500 and run 1500rms to each sub thats why i was looking into a re sx

that would be fine, but the box still sucks. no offense. i should say the design sucks, not the box.

its the only way i can put subs in my truck i only have 13.5 wide and 28 long to work with and around 35" tall and thats all the room i have i can do 2 6" aeros if i use elbows or something u know a way to make the box design better then feel free to pm me bc i am stumped.

is that a simple square? or a rough measurement of a wedge
