Time for new components

Well its time for some new components up front. One of my diamond d6 blew. So What would be something comparable to the D661's I need a 6 1/2" speaker. I will be running off of this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...o-D6600.4.html

I just want something as good as the D6's that will sound loud and clear. Also what is the difference between aluminum and silk tweeters? I have the aluminum right now. Thanks for your help.

When you have a choice between aluminum and silk tweeters, like Diamond gives you, the aluminum tweeter is probably going to sound brighter and more aggressive than the silk tweeter. That's the most simple way to describe it. I prefer a metal dome tweeter, when it's done well, because I think it sounds more like real music. That depends on good quality recordings as well.

Do you have a budget? Are you going to make new mounts?

Would like to use same mounting holes in a 02 silverado. Fronts take 6.5" speakers and the mounting whole is just under 6".

As for budget, Nothing too much maybe a couple hundred. But I do want quality.

Yes I realize that. I am just needing something that is close to the D6's I may be able to find someone with some used D6's. What about the Diamond Hex set? I found a use set for $140.

I'd stick with Diamond since you have a diamond amp, might as well keep it the same brand.

Yes, I would like to stick with diamond. Always have liked them, And im running a D6 amp anyway. Those D663A look good. Might go with those if I cant find a good deal on something used. What do you guys think about those Diamond Hex?

Diamond Hex will crush anything those 2 brands could ever dream of offering. Those are just simply nut hugged brands.

The letter at the end of the model number designates tweeter material. It will either be an A or S. A for aluminum S for silk.

Ground Zero GZUC 650SQ components are the best components under the $600 range. Ive used a lot of high sq components. They retail for $399.

have killer adjustments on their crossovers. GZUC 650SQ
