Time for an amp decision.... DLS or JL

I've heard on a few occations veteran car audio installers choosing the Reference series over the Ultimate series DLS.
I'd personally buy according to power/dollar first.

And just because the Zapco DC series has more tuning capabilities than Kicker SX, does not make it a better choice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
it still gives it the edge on amplifiers with built in digital sound processing. never said it was the best choice. but hey what else on the market currently are you going to compare it to?

You are correct. However what purpose do either makes or models have when running a passive comp set??? Tuning capabilities aside, it doesn't seem to be a worthy investment. I only mentioned it because it may eclipse the C2K line in power and performance.

it still has tons of processing available for passive setups. think of it as an EQ way more advanced than the standard 4-7 band that comes in the deck.

hey guys check this out...

The DLS ra40 owners manual says this: "In bridge mode the amplifier sees a four ohm speaker as a two ohm load" The CDT components are 4ohm. What should I do? will it be a problem?

No, that is true of most amplifiers. A bridged pair of chs is same load on an amplifier as combining two chs running 2ohm stereo. No worries. It'll still produce power to your speakers 4ohm, just will produce the power per ch as it were a 2ohm load(creating more power).

You will be happy with the Reference series, they are mighty fine amplifiers and the drop dead gorgeous DLS beast of a heatsink to boot.
