Time Alignment T/A Delay, etc.

Pretty much, I know lots of people say that does not work, but it works for me. Chad(from diyman, not chad hicks) uses a tape measure but I dont see how that works. That tape measure does not know how high to lift the stage and where to make tonal compromises, it might sound balanced, but that's as far as it can do right?

edit: my actual method is if its in m/s ( i hate the cm and inches) I start delaying the driver side mid until the voices start coming from the windshield(rearview mirror center) then I start delaying the driver tweeter for finishing touches, they say you cant hear a tweeter move, but if you are crossed below 8khz you can hear it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ( "they" are the people that are running 4way so that figures)
the tape measure method is get the difference in distance of the speakers from the listening point, so you know how much to delay. What that is meant to do make the sound from each speaker to reach you at the same time, delaying them to equal distances... which would make the center image right in front of you, which i really dislike. But that can be fixed by adding a little bit more delay to the left speakers.

wait, wtf, i'm the one asking the questions here!

Yah trick...

here is where the measurement method will get you (stage height may vary):

surprisingly, some like and prefer it that way.

Always makes me giggle a lil when people say "that sounds over-processed" like that's even possible. I understand that adding more things to the signal chain will add noise and whatnot, but there are a ton of things done to a waveform from the time it leaves that guitar until it hits your ears...compressed, limited, expanded, converted, copied, pasted, burned, D/A to A/D to D/A again, more. Use DSP to your advantage; it's your friend.

some think it's easy to get equal PLDs in a car with minimal reflections and not require processing.

I want to see an install in a smart car.

Makes me queasy looking at that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
yes, it reminds me of helotaxi. I tried to make it easier on the eyes by adding Shakira in there.

Is she horny too?
yes. You can tell by looking below her.

i have been in cars that if you tilt your head it sounds totally ****ed up and I have also been in cars that if you were not tall enough you would not be impressed either...and a few of those cars installs alone probably cost more than an avid hobbiests entire system....

Which tells about poor install?

Or

The fact that trying to replicate true stereo playback in a car is inherently flawed from the get-go?
