tickets for being loud?

I've had a cop stop by and offer some improvement suggestions on how to make it louder... then again, I went to school with the guy so who knows.

I was just driving one day in traffic and had it up and there was an undercover cop in a suv next to me he had tints so I had no clue that there was a cop next to me. He just lowered down his window and asked me nicely if I could lower it a little. Of course I did, especially since they passed a law in FL if you can hear your music from 20ft away (something like that) you get a ticket. Besides that nothing else. My friend got pulled over by a school cop and they let him go after giving him a hard time.

Yeah that law sucks man, its actually 25 feet... But its stupid.

basically got a ticket for noise disturbance, fought it, and won.

i was pushing a solobaric with 500watt at that time.

bail amount on ticket was $350:crazy:

i had a $80 tickit when i i had the 400w audiobahn 12 in a sealed box....with my rl-p i had a cop pull up next to me with his windows up and was shaking his head and rolled down his radio and was like that shit was so loud i couldnt even hear my earpiece, but i would be surprised if i metered over a 140

Dang. I got alot of response from this one. I think i'll measure out 50ft, have my dad sit in his truck, and then turn it down to where he cant hear it with my remote knob, mark it, then bump whenever i feel i'm safe.

ive never gotten any tickets (i usually always turn it down if i see any cops, or am in unfamiliar places), also ive only rolled by cops twice when i forgot to turn it off..the first time i was driving one way, the cop was going the other..as i was turning.. i saw the cop flip a u turn..so i just boned out straight down the street and turned onto a street and pulled into a friends driveway..the second time the cops both looked at me as i turned it down lmao..this past week without my system though.. ive seen mass cops..

well i have beef with this noise pollution shit because tickets in GA is no joke. The start out at $120 then go up $30 after the first infraction and i am at my 4 one. SO you do the math. I am not gonna really tell my stories here cus i do not feel like typing that much. But the beef that I have is that when they write the ticket. It just says noise, then in parathenesis it says "music". SO what about these loud *** exhuast that ppl have. I mean i have never seen a harely pulled over. ANd they scare the shit out of me when they ride by at 55 mph.

Good point. Also, do they hurt your insurance? Are they considered a moving violation?

I had my school's parking pass taken away from me in High school because the principal said he heard my music in the parking lot and disturbing classes. Only problem I ever had... sad thing was that it actually wasn't my car and I didn't have subs in but I still took the punishment since it was only light. No problem with cops tho... I know to keep it down around them.

Well I am 28 now and know when to and when not to turn it up. But in my town wich is really small I am alot of the reason why they set the noise polution at 25 feet. Cops just loved me back then. But I have changed my ways now.
