I just installed a 9512 this week...I like the W7 better. Just my personal opinion.

Did a 143 on my mic with 1kw on it.

I've done W7 installs that did 145s with 500 watts.

But what do I know....

Lets look at what the companies are known for. MTX SPL! JL audio SQ! when was the last time u heard some one enter an Spl comp with JL audio. Me personally i can not remember. Now I have seen MTX in comps. but hey what what do I know. and that Xmax is not really that important. Look at the Kove armageddon and the cerwin Vega Strokers. I mean Xma is not that big of an deal if it was then the van that broke the current SPL record with an 177.7 he used treo subs. how many extreme vechlies use W7 en of disscussion and up grade u alt . have a nice day holla

a subwoofer is a air piston, SPL is the displacement of air

put 2+2 together - i guess you'll get 5 just to be different right?

I think what Denim is trying to say is by looking at the SPECS it is a better sub. just the Specs nothing else. Obviously many of us havent heard the MTX so we cant say its better

Specs don't mean anything until verified by a third party (ie DUMAX). Remember Audiomobile?

I'd like to see if the 9500 has 10% more xmax than the longest stroke subwoofer on the planet. As well, I don't see a comparison regarding Sd.

I happen to have a DUMAX report of a drive unit with 48mm one way...

Ruler flat in all aspects.

W7 does have a lot of usuable displacement, but it is easily beaten, just not by much that is comercially available right now.

ok u guys are now going to rang on me. I which we could talk about this like on the phone or in person . FUk SPEc for just congrad the guy on his purchase. second we talk about SPL like we are the founder of this sht. I was just saying that look at what the big boys use. They are the one's that are spornsed by some one they are the one breaking records. I have yet to see any one use an JL in an comp. and about that 153.3 at 1kw. and v-tech 12 hit an 153.1 at 1kw and I blew one of those last year whit and crossfire140. ok it is over
