The 9500 should be able to be competitive in terms of output, but in terms of linearity, given the motor design, I sincerely doubt it would be at all competitive with the likes of the W7 or Brahma.

I'd definitely take the Brahma.

This is from those crap ads that MTX put out about a month ago when they compared t/s parameters of the JL W7 with the new 9500. It was shady marketing that included comparisons there could not be verified or could be used to persuade people who had no idea what they meant. Either way, I never believe any advertisements put out by a company without some strong backing from independent sources.

I think it's kind of fishy they compared the 10" 9500 to the 10" w7. They don't mention anything about the 12's...I wonder why :O

i wouldnt come close to buying a brahma just becuase id be so paranoid about it breaking it some way. id go XXX

I had it out with this topic on this site, the W7 and the 9500 are simlar, but in many stats the MTX is better, but the stipluation is that its MTX's numbers and JL uses certified numbers, but in the real world, thats pretty **** close anyway

The two technically are both SGLCs, and they have similar displacement levels, and that's pretty much where the similarity ends.

The motor linearity of the W7 is considerably beyond the 9500s, which is just a basic SGLC, with no modifications to flatten the BL curve. That difference alone dictates that the 9500 really isn't going to be able to keep up for musical reproduction.
