After the fiasco (details here if interested) with a carwash place here locally I (they) replaced the unit that got damaged with another one just like it purchased from Crutchfield where I bought my original one. The cosmetically flawed (thanks to those idiots) but operationally perfect unit got sold to another forum member and is now living a happy life (I assume?) in Texas.

One of these days I may want to branch out and venture into the world of active setups but until that happens, if it ever happens, I'm going to stick with this XXV-01D. It sounds good, it looks good, and there aren't heaps of them around as I think the production runs on all of the 25th Anniversary eXcelon gear was somewhat limited.

Yep, I read that a while ago. I wasn't sure if you did indeed replaced the damaged unit with another XXV-01D. Glad to know you still have it as I fully agree with your assestment.
