Rap has its purposes...it bumps. And honestly, the demographics I think it tries to reach out to is the younger kids. It's sad because the messages they deliver are so explicit that they don't need to be exposed to that at all. How many 30 yr olds do you see playing rap?
The effect it has is simple, so many wannabe thugs. Reminds me of high school when we had a "gang" called T-side, short for taiwanese side. Nobody was Thai, they were middle easter, white, mexican, etc, pretty lame actually. Now you got 12 year old girls wearing skirts with their ******* showing and gettin pissed off of being called a ho. Well shit, let me dress like a cop and have someone come up to me and want to arrest a burglar and then I tell them, "oh im not a cop, i'm just dressed like one." Misleading aint it? There's no reason to show your cooch, sag your pants below your knees (where it should be around the waist/hips), smoke weed, and drink, when you don't even have any pubes. Too much of the younger generation is fvcked up. I'm not lookin at this from an "old" person perspective, I'm 23 and I have worked in recreation since I was 16. I'm not gonna say I never drank alcohol or tried smoking some weed, I have, but I didnt do it at such a young age and I did it with moderation, minus the 3 times where I've gotten shit faced drunk. It happens, but da/mn, at such a young age, why? It doesn't help when you got rappers making it seem like its the life to be doing these things as well.
I'll take my Phil Collins albums over rap any day, cos Phil Collins is the shit. If you think otherwise, then you're ghey and don't know shit either, why cos I said so, and who am I to say this, just another human being, its an opinion so dont get butthurt, so if you think i'm talkin about you....then i'm really talking about you.
