Thoughts on IA Death Penalty 21"

I have a chance to buy a brand new IA dp 21 for $500 cash.

Seems like a great deal to me. As far as subs go, is this really a worthwhile sub, or more of a gimmick type sub?

I'm not quite up to speed on the newer subs yet. But I'm working on it ...

I know some of the members here have ran this sub. What do you think of them? And if you are no longer running one, why did you take it out??

SO, IA dp 21" in a dbl fold T-line on a 2000w rms amp, in a 87 S-10 blazer ..... it should "hit", you think ??

It'll bump, but yes. You will need a pretty big enclosure. Ask Mr. Kless about his 24" SHD

They will work well in 9 - 10 ft3 net , they are great in ground pounder builds

Ported you are right, but in a T-line I am betting on 13+ ....

ive been wanting to try some 21s since ia came out with them... now that they have 24"s out im wanting to test with that as well.

once i got my first 18" sub i never could realley enjoy the sound from smaller cones.

even at medium listning levels

the sound of a large cone producing bass seems so effortless and easy compaired to smaller cone woofers having to do much more work to produce the same effect. large cone for life.

idk tho - maby 18 is the magic number

Ported you are right, but in a T-line I am betting on 13+ ....

Gonna have to agree with the around 20 cubes statement. Ported labyrinth is different from a 1/4 wave transmission line.

That sounds deff possible to me ... I was figuring around 15 or possibly more, just guessing ...

well, I am wanting to try a double fold T-line ... but it may work better in a ported bass Labyrinth, idk yet ....have to see what the driver specs out at ...

And now I'm not even positive I will be getting it. My connection over in Temecula has seemed to flake on me. And the guy won't ship the Death Penalty ...
