Thoughts on enclosure for (4) Pioneer TS-W257D4

Looking for some suggestions.

I picked up the four subs, brand new from a friend for $100 total. He bought them a couple months ago, never got them installed and now needed some cash.

I know they aren't the best in the world, but for the price, they will work.

I am looking for info on enclosure size and porting frequency. I have about 7.25 cu ft to work with (external dimensions). Pioneer recommends 1.1 cu ft ported per driver. Seems kinda small, even for a 10".

I listen to all kinds of music. Rock, Rap, Country, etc. So, I'm not looking to have just a high output box, I also want it to sound good.

I'll be running them for now with my old Phoenix Gold titanium 800.1 amp.

I had four of the 12" version in 7 cubes net tuned 35hz and it sounded really good, i was underpowering them a little but the output was still good. I had mine in 1.75 each, and it was fine for the 12" so the 10" i don't see why the 1.1 wouldnt work, i would make a little bigger just to be on the safe side. don't forget build log. Also think of upgrading the amplifier for maximum output.

Thanks......I was thinking 1.25 per, tuned to 32-35Hz. So that seems in-line with what you are thinking.

The PG amp will do 800rms, I know it's "small" by today's standards, but it will do until I can pick up a new one. Alright.....

Going with 5.6 cu ft after sub and port displacement. Tuned to 35Hz

Two more questions.

1. Will three 4" AeroPorts be sufficient?

2. This will be going in my Saturn SW1 wagon. I would like people's opinions on sub/port placement.

a. Subs up / Ports up

b. Subs up / Ports back

I would do 5cubes, same tuning... but since you have little power for them is better that the box is a bit on the big side.

I think that 3 4" aeros are just fine.
