My concern is the air pocket up the top there ontop of the port, should that be a concern or should it be fine?

Another problem is the sub and port will be facing inwards towards the cabin in a hatchback. They will be right behind the back seats. I know rear firing helps with loudness but should I really lose that much?

The whole point of this design is to hide the system so I've made it the same height as the back seats, the angle in the back is to suit the hatchback shape.

Cheers.

Looks like you could raise the back seat maybe 2 to 2-1/2" use longer seat bolts and washers and frame/mold in the under carriage cavity of that...
