It's an ideological battle, where educated Western Christians battle educated Middle Eastern Muslims. The battle is political, and relies on convincing the uneducated public that the other party is evil. Once you've accomplished that, you can do whatever you want or need to them. Both sides think they're right, and they're doing the same thing in different ways.
It's really comical, actually. Joe McCarthy would be proud.
The ideological battle is certainly not between Christianity and Islam, its between liberal democracy and Islamic theocracy.

And as i pointed out, its clear that many of the minds being fought for are already well educated

lol, you honestly belive that was done because americans follow a different relition than ISLAM?
Saudia Arabia, Pakistan, IRAQ and a hand full of other "Muslim" countries have been well developed when the "True" Americans was running around ***** on this land we call America.

Americans, as we know them today, have been extremely volunerable to terrorist attacks in the past, WW!, French and Indian war, WWII, Vietnam, and a host of other campaigns.

If muslims truly wanted to attack america because they are Christians, why wait till now lollllllllllllll

These countries have been developed for a thousand years.

They watch our baby country grow, truth be told we are in plenty of debt to arab nations.

WHich, is a reason for war and terrorism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were you really laughing out loud as you typed that?

I didnt tell anyone they were a murderer. I specifically denounced stereotyping people. All i am arguing is that it matters what people believe. Tibetan Buddhists have certainly suffered an occupation by the Chinese far worse than the Palestinians have by the Israelis, and yet where are the Buddhist ******* bombers? The jihad and martyrdom preached in Islam gives oppressed pissed off Muslims all the reasons they need to kill people in the name of God.
It is not the quran that causes people to do things like this, it is people interpreting the quran in their own way and for their own purposes and then projecting these ideas on to others in order to take advantage of them. Very few people sit down and read the quran with no outside influence and think to themselves, 'wow, I should be ******* bombing people.' In fact, I doubt hardly anybody does unless they are already a piss poor person morally and want to kill people to begin with.

Just as priests have taken advantage of their influence over young and manipulatable christians in order to use the 'word of god' for their own personal gain/wishes to be carried out, there are 'muslim' people (mostly the terrorist recruiters, and people like osama) who manipulate young and naiive islamic people into carrying out their wishes of terror and destruction.

You are associating the religion of Islam with terrorism, claiming that Islam provides a particularly easy route to terrorism, like claiming that being black provides an easy route to becoming a criminal. Realistically, it has nothing to do with the fact that someone is islamic or black or christian or white, it has to do with the influential people in their lives who poison them with their own agenda; People who they percieve to be just like them, and who gain their trust and manipulate them for their own purposes.

If anything, if you actually knew what Islam is truly about, you'd understand that its founding principles are really just much stricter versions of everything Christianity is founded on.

I think terrorism (not always ******* bombing) is worse, because it is the intentional targeting of civilians. Imagine a perfect weapon that allows you to get just your target, with no "collateral damage." How might the United States have used such a weapon in Iraq? Now imagine how Osama bin Laden or Hamas would use it. If you cant recognize a moral distinction there, then there is something wrong with you. I can certainly agree that as a matter of foreign policy, the United States has much to be sorry for but that does NOT excuse blowing yourself up in a crowd of civilians.
Again, Osama bin laden is not an accurate representation of a Muslim man. Not only that, but who exactly are we fighting in Iraq? Terrorists? Really? That's like another country coming to america and sweeping the streets, killing those who get in the way, in order to fight drug dealing.

btw these weren't rhetorical questions.
If this were a predominantly islamic country, then yes, it should be run under islamic law. Islam is not just a religion. It's not just going to church every sunday. It's not just 'accepting jesus as your savior'. It's not just something you call yourself and use as part of your self-description Islam is a way of life. By creating laws government laws that accurately and properly outline its teachings, you are only helping true muslims be guided on the path they should be on, if they should ever stray.

I don't believe there should be any kind of punishment for apostasy. There is nothing in the quran that indicates that apostasy is anything that should be punishable by death, and any right-minded Muslim of right intention would clearly see that we are in no place to judge people's personal issues and decisions before God. God and God alone is our judge of character and of heart.

IDK, a lot of people have told me that I am judgmental. Some even say too judgmental.
