Thors DC Neo's

nice subs rob. would be a interesting test these vrs the warden. wonder which motor is stronger. i know the wardens are less than half the cost of the dd's...
The DC's are much stronger with full stacks of neo vs half stacks. Corey call me and I'll tell ya a lil about them lol

Id like to see DC get away from the wide surrounds.
I doubt that will happen soon. The only surround I've tested that I cant rip is a rubber surround lol We do have a new cone/surround combo we're going to try that has an nylon interwoven weave in a rubber sandwich.

mmmmm rubber sandwich

stronger isn't always better.. there are saturation limits for the type and surface area of different metals..

example 1008 low carbon steel is going to be easier to magnetize than say 1018.. the low carbon steels are more expensive to..

also your going to saturate a topplate thats smaller/thinner faster.. most importantly finding the spiders, cones and coils for the application can cost more than the motors themselves.. hence the DD woofers are more expensive..untill i see some actual gauss test on the motors B/L won't tell you exactly which motor is stronger..

also cooling is more important than motor strength in such an application as power compression wreak's HAVOC on a woofers ability to reproduce a signal..

Ive always been skeptical of using a neo motored sub for a daily system, as heat affects them greatly and their t/s specs change as they heat up (due to a loss of BL). But I have to admit, my interest is growing. I might have to bite the bullet and try a neo motor one of these days.

i was told they will be about the same price as the warden..
Correct pricing will be comparable to the Warden. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

All true statements. We are working diligently at getting CF cones and caps in. Soft parts are the hardest things to keep together especially with this much motor strength. As far as cooling goes these are amazing! Far far better than my lvl 5's.

I've been absolutely amazed with the cooling on these motors. I've yet to stink em up and I've gone long long long stretches pushing them at the edge of surround limits with no issues at all.

i would like to see a 50mm thick top plate and a spider ring. maybe a stiffer spider than the nuway poly cotton so you dont need so many stacked and loose eff thru friction...
With 6 spiders unstretched the motor easily throws it to its limits lol In the past with the lvl 5's it would take several weeks of hard playing to accomplish that lol

I havent been given the ok to release gauss strength yet but I know when Rusty told me what it was my jaw hit the ground lol For those who want a comparison to the ddz's its much stronger lol
