Good stuff man..I see you landed some solid pieces at nice prices, put together a solid system all around. Good luck with it, glad you you guys are enjoying the subs, nice to know my tastes are not out of wack- the Arc sub has been a wonderful SQ sub for me- so much so that after i had moved on to try something else, my path led me to use them again.

Foxpro whats the volume of that box and power you are using? curious..

~1.25 cubes and it gets at least 500w off my A5. I read the review on the Arc where the guy moved it from Arc's recommended .9 to a 1.2 with some loose polly and got a better low end responce out of it...this is if my aged memory serves me correctly:)

***Edit*** Found it: http://www.arcaudio.com/arc-05/pdf/sub_reviewfi.pdf

Can't tell which mag it's out of though.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Did you figure those Arc's out yet?

Not yet, but I do have an idea of where to start, thanks to both 6spdcoupe and 3.5Max6spd. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Excellent. How much power will you be running to the drivers and from what amps...just curious??

I remember speaking to a guy at Arc about those comps and he was running a 4150 XXK bridged to each side. So needless to say they are a quality speaker that will respond nicely. But than again, Rainbow doesn't make crap either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah mine are in 1.2's as well getting about the same power each. The low end is very sweet ! They def were not the same sub in the 0.6 and 0.9's i had them in before.

Ok, I'm going to try and ask this as clearly as I can....

I am looking at that link you supplied to get the Lotus speakers... and have a totally dumb question... are the prices listed for the raw drivers for a pair? Or is it single priced? Cuz if per pair, I'll make my own three way setup for 410 bucks. If not... meh...

Also, if I get those seperatly... how sould I go about a crossover?

I have an Orion 4004, which I plan on powering whatever speakers I decide to buy with. I really still am thinking of those Bostons listed in my sig.

Shouldn't you buying Focal Mr. Frenchy?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And yea, those are prices per driver for the Seas Lotus. I don't know of anywhere else you can get them to be honest with you. If you are member on the ECA forum, the owners of MoblieSQ are members their as well. Maybe check the for sale section as they do pop up once and a while both new and used.

You just missed it, both the Performance and Reference sets were on sale at 10% off till March 1st. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Maybe they will have it again???

All my processing is done on my headunit. If you plan on running raw drivers actively then you would need an electronic crossover or a HU that will allow you to do so.

If you do go with and active set up, than your 4 channel will work take care of the mids and tweets and you would need another amp for your sub.

If you go with the Pro60's I would bridge your amp and run those passively. They really need some power behind them to make them shine.

Ya, I think I'm just going to go with the Pro60s... bridge my amp to 150 x 2 @ 4ohm.. and then play the 3ohm speakers through em... shoudl be around what... maybe 175 - 200 RMS per?

Also, explain this active and passive crossover thing? Please?

Yes the Pro60's will present your amp with a 3 ohm load and you will get 200 watts to them (150x4/3 = 200). Your amp might run a little on the warm side as not manny 4 channel amps like less than a 4 ohm load when bridged.

If you do a search in the speaker section there are a few good threads that will tell you all you need to know. But basically, If you just buy individual speakers/raw drivers like you were asking about you need some way to filter the correct frequiencies to the right speakers. In an active set up like mine, I am filtering the correct frequencys to the right drivers with my HU. Therefore, my speakers are hooked directly up to my amps.

In a passive system (the Pro60's will come with passive crossovers) the filtering takes place between the amplifier and the speakers. When you buy a component set, you will always get a passive crossover/filter that does most of the work for you.

There are advantages and disadvantages to each method and they should be explained well in your research.

Hope this helps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll be running 75w to each driver with an Alto Mobile ADP304. Nice little amp that'll fit under my seat and can't be seen even with the seats moved all the way forward. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Sounds good man. I've always been interested in those little guys. Let me know how you like it.
