i am seriously considering the purchase of the rockford p6001bd mono amp. i wanna use it to power one 10" sub. here are the specs:

Amplifier Type: Mono

RMS Power: 300W x 1 @ 4 Ohms

THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: 0.08 %

RMS Power: 600W x 1 @ 2 Ohms

Speaker Level Inputs: No

Preamp Outputs: Yes

Built-In Crossovers: LP

Bass Boost: 0 - 18 dB

Frequency Response: 20-300 Hz

Signal to Noise Ratio: >80 dB

can this amp be used to power an Alpine SWR-1042D sub? its overpowered but inexpensive (which is why i even bothered to ask). here are the specs for the sub:

Dual 4-ohm voice coils

Frequency response: 26-600 Hz

Power handling: 200-500 watts RMS

Peak power: 1,500 watts

Sensitivity: 83 dB

You do not have to run an amp at 100% of its unclipped output for starters.

Secondly the Type R will easily take 100 watts over rated RMS input safely so you should be just fine. Set the gains on the amp using the procedure outlined in the stickied gain setting tutorial and you should be gold //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm running 2 Type-R 12s on a Directed 1500d and they love it! It does 1200@1 ohm, but I have my gains set a little on the conservative side. Are putting it in a ported or sealed box?
