He's basically asking if it's better to get the best of the worst, or the worst of the best.

To answer that, a $200 amp from Boss probably won't outperform a $200 amp from Directed. A $50 speaker from JVC won't outdo a $50 speaker from RE. A $150 HU from Jensen won't perform as well as a $150 HU from Clarion. As such, I'd get the worst equipment of the best companies.

No, you can't flame. It's a very legit question, unless I read it wrong. To see things from the opposite perspective, even Pyramid makes some good amps. You could go the other way around, and have a nice quality setup, dispite having brands we all see as junk.

I'll flame

The fact that he included Boss and Jensen in the good company list is pure idiodic. I've used Boss products before, they fuckin ****. The amplifiers do not produce rated power. not even close. Supposedly they're stable at 2 ohms. But upon further investigation after running the amp for two hours at two ohms, the thing poofed.. lots of magic smoke and capacitor juice.

As far as their crossovers go, I tested the REV50X. One of the "top of the line" ones from them. The thing was inacurate and I swear all it did was phase shift frequencies in stead of add or lower gain to them. That piece of Shyte sounded horrible.

As far as jensen goes... why would you trust and amp that you could buy four of with 40 bucks? I mean come on now. When even the guys at Audio Express (home of the $1 install - http://www.audioexpress.com - these guys are tools) laugh at you when you bring in a Jensen product, you know you made a big *** mistake.

you kids know these amps arent overrated but they rate them for ahigher voltage than youll get but if you get that voltage youll get the power stated....

why is pioneer mixed in with boss and jensen? pioneer makes some nice headunits which i wouldn't consider to be low end, but there amps could be considered low-end
