well my dog is 15 years old, and is blind, deaf, balding, and getting weak. his eye is swollen and puss is coming out, so i gotta take him to the vet to get his eye drained and some teeth pulled. the vet said because of his age and health, he will probably die during the surgery, meaning he won't wake up from the anestesia. so this looks the end.

I feel for you, TeeBone. I had to put my beloved Great Dane down last year and absolutely hated it.

yeah that does ****... myf amily had a dog we picked up from the pound during this thing they were having to try to get the dogs adopted before they were put to sleep. It was a mix of like a scottish terrier and a poodle or something along those lines... anyways, we had him for probably 8 years (didnt know how old he was when we got him) and over the years he began to smell bad, lose his teeth, go blind in one eye, become deaf, and quite ornry (sp?). Well when he lost control of his bowels, my dad had me take him to the vet to get euthanized. I didnt like the dog, but i had a hard time doing it. I felt guilty for a WHILE, but it had to be done, both for his sake, and for the carpet's sake.

What im trying to say is, you cant stop some of these things.. ya just gotta go with the flow and ride it out... sure itll hurt for a long time, but look at it from the dog's point of view.. would you want to smell, be almost blind, deaf, and balding?
