I get pretty pissed when I see a Tahoe or big *** SUV filling up. How on earth can these people afford to fill those things up?

seriously..if gas starts getting as high as racing fuel...we all really need to sop buying gas for 3 days and bankrupt the oil companies

Work extra hours, it sucks filling up a suv, thats why I also own a 93 saturn sl2 now just because of the gas, it is actualy cheaper for me to add this to my insurance and register it than one month of gas in the suv. I was spending around 500-600 a month in gas from going to and from work. The saturn runs me nothing like that. And now I work 5 minutes from home instead of 1.5 hrs as well so that is also saving me alot. It sucks to do that.

I think its funny how all these oil companies try to feed us a bunch of b.s. on the increasing crude oil prices, then have no problem advertising the highest profits EVER!!

$2.75 here for regular BTW.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't it take 1.3 gallons of gasoline to produce 1 gallon of ethanol? How would this E-85 fuel help our situation with these outrageous gas prices? We would have to import more creude oil to produce a fuel which is supposed to be more friendly to our enviroment that we have been screwing up since the birth of mankind. Leave saving the earth to the tree huggin hippies and give us back our cheap gas prices. I remember about a decade ago when gas prices were $1.05 a gallon. I bet Bush is banking off these increased prices with all his oil tycoon buddies, and doesnt even know what type of gas is put in his presidential limo. These are just my $.02.

If americans quit buying all oil based products for good other countries would pick up our slack and enjoy lower prices... also it would hurt all those people with retirement funds invested in oil stocks...

higher price = higher profits.

The cost of crude is not increasing because it's becoming more expensive to find it. It's increasing because there is a much higer demand. There is less oil for more people and since we need it we pay more... the answer is higher production or lower consumption...

Actually I don't think your're quite right but it might be true. I know ethonal has less energy in it per gallon but that can be counter acted with forced induction. Ethonal is more stable under pressure than gasoline so you can crank the boost and get more power out of it without causing pre-detonation...

As for Bush I'm sure he's banking on higher oil prices as well as everyone who has retirement funds in oil stocks... this isn't just direct investors either... there are many public employees whose retirement funds are cornerstoned by energy stocks... it's not just Bush's "oil buddies" it's the whole **** country
