indeed i was gone awhile from this forum but still checked back every now and then and was very active before i left but you know just as well as i do that there was a lot more knowledgeable regulars that posted HELPFUL things and answers everyday and slowly but surely they left due to being harassed and trolled constantly. i kept in contact with a lot of the regulars from this site over aim and most of them left this site and went to others more regularly for the reasons above... i dont remember anybody saying the site was going downhill the first year or two i joined it was a lot better site then and i personally learned a lot from the old mods/regulars that dont come here anymore..really ***** cause people who are new and join dont get the same type of guys wanting to teach and help like there was when i joined and pointed me in the right direction...
Yes, people complained the first few years you were here, you just dont remember it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif People have literally been saying this forum is dying since I joined it.
Yes, I wish we still had Tracey from Kicker here, Manville Smith from JL, Dan Wiggins from Adire, the guys from RE, Josh Laine, etc etc. Some of them moved on to other sites, some simply stopped posting much on public forums. Back when car audio internet forums were fairly new, we saw a lot more representation directly from manufacturers and retailers. But I think as the medium has evolved, many of those companies/people have realized its a difficult way to advertise, by direct and personal contact with every anonymous e-bully, moron, and attention ***** on the interweb. Many of those guys use to get mobbed with endless stupid questions, PM's, rants, and every unreasonable demand any disgruntled customer could conceive of when they visited these forums (this one, and others). I watched that situation drive away most of them one by one.
But yes, many people have left due to the immature atmosphere that permeated this site. We are working to improve that. But like I said, it takes support from the members, and it takes time. You are more than welcome to stick around and help change the site into something you'd rather be involved with than what you feel it currently is.
