People are too fickle. It wasn't even 2 days ago now that I was responding to a thread where it was being claimed this forum has gone down hill do to over-moderation. Now Im finding myself responding to a thread claiming its going downhill due to under-moderation.
As for the complaints in THIS thread, you've been gone a while jtomsic, so maybe you just dont realize, but we do have rules against the things you are complaining about. IN every section on this site EXCEPT the thunderdome, we have rules about not harassing other members, not deviating off topic, thread dumping, etc. If someone sees this happening, hit the report post button. Action will be taken. Goob, and the mods here, have been working at 'cleaning up' the tech and classified sections for a while, if you haven't seen an improvement, its because you aren't paying attention.

Ive been here as long, or longer, than anyone in this thread (and most people on the site). A lot has changed over the years, but one thing that has remained consistent literally since the day I signed up for this site, is the claims that the forum is dying. The 'good old days' that are usually referred to in these threads, I was here for all those days.... and people still complained bitterly and suggested the site was dying back then.

indeed i was gone awhile from this forum but still checked back every now and then and was very active before i left but you know just as well as i do that there was a lot more knowledgeable regulars that posted HELPFUL things and answers everyday and slowly but surely they left due to being harassed and trolled constantly. i kept in contact with a lot of the regulars from this site over aim and most of them left this site and went to others more regularly for the reasons above... i dont remember anybody saying the site was going downhill the first year or two i joined it was a lot better site then and i personally learned a lot from the old mods/regulars that dont come here anymore..really ***** cause people who are new and join dont get the same type of guys wanting to teach and help like there was when i joined and pointed me in the right direction...

Yeah I agree with Holic. I too used to think the forum was going downhill but now I realize that's just the perpetual state of mind...

The one thing that everyone needs to realize though is that the forum will still be here if you leave (not talking to anyone specifically). I've seen way too many drama threads about how the forum is going downhill and the OP is leaving, like it's the end of the world. There's a reason this is the largest car audio forum, there's always going to be 10 new members joining to replace that 1 that got sick of this place. I do wish we had more actually knowledgeable people though, the average intelligence level here is at an all time low IMO.
