You see much of that here in your neighbor to the south as well - heaps of folks with their $200 "stereo in a box" from WalMart or Pep Boys.

Some of it is simply people who are SERIOUSLY broke (which I can sympathize with currently //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif) or just people who do not know any better.

And with zero experience with aftermarket car audio Sony Xplod gear likely sounds worlds better than their factory setup did...
