alright i will be buying my first complete car audio system very soon and this is what i will be purchasing

deck: alpine cda-9885

amp: alpine pdx 2.150

speakers: one set of alpine spr-17s type-r's

sub amp: jl audio 500/1 mono

sub: jl audio 10w7

i know it will be on the expensive side because of the mainstream brands but oh well. my goal is sq, not spl. so what is your guys opnion on this little setup for someone who will be installing their first full car audio system?

Well, going by your equipment list I would say that so long as the install is decent and the Dub7 is in an appropriate enclosure it should sound pretty good.

Are you buying all this gear brand-new from a retail source somewhere or are you going the internet route and trying to find some deals??

i personally ran a JL 13w7, and believe that the tc-9 twelves i have now have just as much sound quality as it had.... so i second the above statement
