lookin for a decent brad nailer, I don't buil that many boxes (couple per year) Don't need top of the line quality, just decent for the money.

Is a 1 1/4" nailer suitable for box building? Or do I need 2"? Thanks in advance

seriously you dont need too much out of a finish nailer or brad nailer... any cheap one from harbor freight will do just fine. you can usually find one for like $20

I really don't see why it wouldn't... I think a 1/4-1/2in depth into the second piece is plenty for holding it to dry.

if you are just using it to hold the wood together while the wood dries and then you are gonna screw the wood, it will be fine. if you are looking to just glue the box and throw some nails in it then get a 2 inch or 2 1/2 inch gun

but otherwise that one is fine

Werd , I bought my harbor frieght combo stapler/ brad nalier on sale for $14 5 years ago, and it's still kicking. It also shoots up to 2" brads. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I use a 1 1/4 cheap *** $20 one, actually one from ebay and one from harbor freight. I glue them, clamp down tight then shoot nails into it. Never had a problem with my boxes, I bet i could throw them out 2nd story windows and they would be fine.

With a brad nailer you can , shoots them in just fine. WIth my cheapie if I crank the pressure up to to suggested pressure. It will actually countersink the brads slightly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
