grayfox Id also take into consideration if you have wife and kids that the marines only deploy for 6-8 months as with the army is 12+. That does not include the 4 mos of fon off training before deploying that the army also gives you. Which is field time where you are away from wife and kids. Iraq is a marriage killer . Im on month 11 of a 13 1/2 month tour with a 45 day extension.

well i hope this will help u. i have been in army reserve for a while already. i have noticed a few things that actually help get people in fairly fast. this might not be what u are looing for, but i respect anyone that wants to join the military during any kind war. 1st, even if u dont pass the exam, u can still get a waiver and join. tell your recruitor that u really wanna join and ask him to get a waiver signed so u dont need to take the exam again if u faill. they can do that!! dont let them be picky about recruits. they need to make a quoteah or they will be dropped from recruiting. u be the boss. u tell them what u want. dont let the recruitor get the best of u. dont let them tell u that u cant join cause of a lowsy dui, thats bull shit. i know of alot of fellow soldiers that have multiple charges and still got in. i failled my exam, had an assault charge on my record, ( assault on an officer )., and flat feet and still got waivers and joined. the militaryy can do almost anything, im serious. they can get charges dropped, and records cleared just to get u in.a big help, and i mean a big help would be to tell your recruiter that if he gets u in, that u promise to get an 11 series job. which meens u will be in some kind of infantry job. i.e. doing the actuall shoot outs and DIEING FIRST. they get bonuses for 11 series recruits. if u have any more questions send me a private message and i will be glad to help. aloha

if you really want to do that to your family then talk to your recruiter he's the military equivalent of a used car salesman! works on commission kinda of!
Isn't the military pretty desperate for soldiers? I thought they take anyone other than homosexuals and disabled. [No pun intended]

BTW, the wife is out and I want to be a rol model for my children. Who says that they would send me to Iraq? If they do then they do and if they don't thats fine with me also. All I want to do is live my dream plain and simple. Hell I'm selling off all my car equiptment just incase I have to do schooling. There is more in life then booming down the street when I can do that in the future. No offenve to my fellow bas heads but it's time to do what I really want to do. Acchieve my goal at all cost.

Honestly, if you cannot pass the ASVAB maybe you do not need to in the Army. You are going to get someone hurt.
That's what the media has told you about S.H. The new is exteremly biased when it comes to national affairs. I don't know who S.H. really is, but I'm pretty sure the media puts it out of proportion.
