I just started at target last wednsday doing overnight unload work for some extra cash around the holidays, we get paid bi-weekly and tonight is my first paycheck. Im just curious how exactly it works, will i get paid since last wendsday when i started up until tonight, or will it be just for last wednsday and up until the end of that week?

I asked some people there and they tryed to explain but i didnt quite get it, i know i can just wait until tonight to see the check but i just would like to know now so i know what to expect lol.

Thanks

It all depends on how Target's pay periods are set up.

Generally on a bi-weekly pay schedule (let's say for the sake of argument you get paid every other Fri) time will go in on say....a Sunday. The paycheck that comes the Friday following that Sunday that time went in will cover the 2-week period prior to and including the day that time gets sent in.

Im still confused...

I dont understand this bi weekly shit for the life of me...

We really get paid every other friday, but becuase im overnight i get paid what everyone thinks is thursday, its 3am friday really, i started last wednsday, i just want to know if its going to include all this week ive been working so far also with the other 3 or whatever days from last becuase if not im going to be fairly pissed, thats alittle over 80 hours not on my check that i have to wait onther two weeks for.

Somebody at work said something about it being saturday to saturday with the pay period, i still dont understand that though, i think its the whole "bi weekly" idea screwing me up

Our pay periods start saturday at midnight. we get paid every other thursday (just got paid today). so this week's and next weeks hours go on the next paycheck in 2 weeks. and i work at walmart so that's how our pay system is. if you started in the middle of a pay period prior to pay week, then those hours will go on the upcoming paycheck.

Alright, i think i got it now lol

This is my first bi weekly job, its starting to get old quik, I should be bringing home around $650 every two weeks from what im told, which seems nice but then remembering its for two weeks and you have to wait and keep that money is odd.

Most retail workweeks are Saturday til Friday. Your time goes in the following saturday. If you started on the 6th...you should get paid for the 6 , 7 , 8.

if you have a check, just look at it. the pay period is written on there. bi-weekly is usually a week late. meaning you don't get paid for the week you get the check.

so im not going to get paid tonight... thats some bs

The only reason i should be bringing home 650 is becuase im makeing 9.50 an hour and working alittle over 10 hours a day every day of the week due to the holiday season, i only signed on for seasonal, i also work another job 5 days of the week im prefectly happy with

So duing the seasonal work period you are working two fulltime jobs? Which means you are at 80 some odd hours? Holy shit, that would ****! Money is nice I am sure, but hell with that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
