well im really considering replacing my 6.5 and 6x9 infinity kappa 3-ways with a nice comp set, 2-way or 3-way . i was just wondering how that would work out, im not really familiar with 3-way comps. the 2-way ones i can work with... but i wanted something that my amp would work nicely with as well... its a rf 551x does 70x4 @ 4 ohms, 140x4 @ 2 ohms and 275 x 2 @ 4 ohms. i was wondering what would be a good replacement without getting another amp....

i was thinking getting a comp set that could handle 275 watts and not having rear speakers...

edit: dont need to go 275x2, could still use 70 watts

o yea, this is going in a 1993 camry, price try to stay around...300

any input would be awesome

thanks in advance! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

- could a mod bump this to the speaker section? thanks

i know rainbows run really well off 70rms but 275 i cant think of many companies that have comps that can take that kind of power , besides boston acoutics

That vifa is discontinued ... and out of stock there atleast -- may be at madisound -- but yea active diy is nicer for the money than you will *typicaly* find passive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif your amp doesn't have a proper xover in it though -- you will have to get an external active xover for it. so the price effecitveness goes away a bit.. IF you didn't run your amp into moderate clipping *ever* I have some sets a bit over your budget that would work with your amp bridged...

try checking out beyma's they are top notch. its a brand from spain, they SCREAM
well the 'kits' would scream... be +-4dB or worse -- not accurate but loud thats for sure if thats all you are after... you could just go get some PA drivers :p -- anyways these dont wan't 275 watts anyways...

I just say use the 70 watts and get some nice speakers...

So what is "OLOGY AUDIO". ?? Is it a brand or a name of a store or what?? that is if you don't mind me asking??

The Vifa I was pointing out was just for an example and I didn't necessarily mean that particular driver is the one he should get. There are plenty of "worthy" or "capable" drivers on that website or madisound that would do a great job.

BTW I notice you're fairly new to the forum.......welcome //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
