Thinking of getting a 4 channel with more 'pep'.....

So I've been using this amp for a while now.....

It's running a 2 way set of components and a single 12" sub active.

Is there any truth in the idea that swapping out an amp such as mine with, say, a 4 channel from Arc Audio or Zapco, that will brighten up or seem to make my mids and highs more 'lively'?

I've heard of people swapping out amps to get more 'pep' or output out of their components, but didn't know if it was a load of bull or not.

Any comments on whether it might make a noticeable difference?
