I would go for it as long as you get comfortable contacts. I absolutely hated my contacts at night, had to put on rewetting drops every 10 minutes to keep from going insane.

hah yea I was like that too...never sleep in disposables for longer then 2 days i did for 3 days and I got an eye infection and couldnt put my contacts back in for a week or so.

I HOPE you have vision insurance. The good news is the price keeps coming down. Every time I renew my perscription I get twice as many for half as much. When you go in, GET your perscription...you can then call 1800contacts, get glasses for emergencies, etc.

how much do u pay from 1800contacts?? do u have astigmatism??

My wife has Night and Day- you wear them for a month straight, dont have to take them out at all. Not sure if they are available for astigmatism's though.......

Some insurance policies will cover contacts, some wont, and others give you a choice between contacts and glasses.

I love my contacts, have been wearing them for 3 years. They told me that I had a slight astigmatism (sp) and prescribed me the Bosch and Lomb Frequency series for astigmatisms, the only thing I hated about those is that you had to look very cloesly before putting them in and make sure that the little line is facing downwards.

However when I went to walmart, they said that my astigmatism was not really bad, so they just prescribed me the regular lens. I haven't had any trouble with them. I have only used the Bosch and Lomb Frequency 55, I love them, never dry out and cant even feel them, and since they are not the ones for astigmatism, then I don't have to worry about lining up the little line cuz there is no line.

BTW, I have my prescription powers and stuff, but when I go to order, they have to call your eye doctor and stuff, and I don't want to go back in and pay for another eye exam. I found lensesbymail.com and it appears that they do not contact your eye doctor, but not sure. Anyone dealt with them, or know somewhere that I can get them with out having another eye exam?

i have an astigmatism also, and my right eye just does NOT like contacs at all. i was told that my right eye is shaped like a football. they are great in my left eye though. so as long as your astigmatism isn't bad, i would say go for it. i however am sick of glasses and i am getting LASIK in a month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i think the acuvue 2 was discontinued recently. the oasis isnt offered for astigmatism, but if you are in the clear in that area, i cant say enough about how great they are. i had the acuvue 2's and they feel like rocks in my eyes compared to my oasis lenses. i ahve terrible eye allergies and have no problems whatsoever with the oasis, all other lenses have been unpleasant. i can wear my oasis lenses for 20+ hours straight with now rewetting drops and they are comfy as can be. do yourself a favor and ask your eye doctor for a trial pair.

the only thing i hated about my contacts is accidentally falling asleep with them in and waking up with them stuck to my eye, mostly my fault but it did get annoying.

i have astigmatizm w/e it is and only wear contacts... i wanna say they're like around $50 a box from walmart so thas like 3 months worth so like $200 a year or so?

i take mine out everynight unless im too drunk lol

i wore glasses for 10 years, contacts for 10 and had lasik 10 years ago.each change was better.
