Thinking about buying some sound deadner

I wanna quite my 07 stang down a little without adding a ton of weight to it. Does anyone know how much the dynamat extreme bulk pack (or mega pack) weights? And which should i buy for my car? should i just start with the 9 18x32" sheets and see how it works or order the mega packs and do it all at once?

fatmat > dynamat. i just lined my whole trunk and trunk lid with fatmat mega mat (their top mat). it was just as easy if not easier than dynamat, and made out of the same thing. it was $130 for 50^2'. dynamat is like 1 grand for that much.

If you have the money Hushmat is nice.Very plyable and easier to install then Dyno.I just did a pack last night in a GMC I think it weighed 38lbs for 50 sheets.IIRC.

Or you could look into Second Skin

I used Second Skin with good results, just be careful, the edges of it are really sharp and can give u a nasty cut

I was looking at edead vs dynamat extreme. I can get rolls of edead way cheaper, but wanted to know what people thought about it? What is a good cheap deadner out there?

dynamat xtreme has the same stats as damplifer but both are less than damplifier pro. stick with one of these 3 and you will be happy.

If you want to deaden a pair of headphone speakers, go for fatmat.

If your looking for a light weight/ quality product go with second skin, dynamat, or raamat.

sounddeadenershowdown is not light. He wants you to buy mass loaded vinyl, which will add hundreds of lbs to your car.

If your looking to deaden engine noise or increase your mid bass, I'd go with ss, dynamat, or raamat.

If your looking to just kill vibrations, go with sds tiles.

Whats with all the bad info and exaggerating in this thread? 100's of lbs? A thousand dollars? Fatmat > Dynamat Extreme? If you dont know what you are talking about, why bother talking at all?

That's going to be a BIG car if you're added hundreds of pounds to it using MLV. Luckily, most people aren't driving school buses for personal transportation. Even then, you only need to worry about adding something with mass if you want to block sources like engine noise - that's just physics and there isn't anything we can do about.

If you are only concerned with panel resonance just use CLD Tiles or one of the other products listed. They all perform the same function!. No matter which product you choose, the way to save weight is to plan carefully and use the proper material for the problem you are trying to solve.

I wanna cover my walls and ceiling in my room with deadner. slightest noises wake me up!
