right now i have some pioneer ts d1720c's in my doors and kicks.

very nice speaker, but I think i want something with a better mid. the tweeters are **** near perfect! but the mids arent too great and will distort before the tweeter will.

Amp is a boston gt40. running at 2 ohms up front so probably about 60rms to each comp set and then rears gettin about 50 @ 4 ohms.

anyone know of some comps that'll do good off about 60rms? not really on a budget. so throw the ideas out! more power maybe??

My suggestion would be to get a bigger amp and some comps that handle more power if you want more midbass. Or if money is not a concern than go 3 way . My new morels should be here soon and i can tell you how much midbass they have. The morel maximo 6 on on a killer sale right now on amazon for like $80 and they handle more power and should sound better than your pioneers.

midbass is fine. midrange, like vocals seem to go lacking.

thinking i might bridge my amp at 2 ohms to my fronts (yes this amp is capable of that) and give each comp set about 125-150rms then get a separate 2 channel for my rears.

Cheap but of decent quality and dnt require a ton of power to get loud... The website says they are sold out but they have them in stock they just never update the website. Give them a call real nice guys that know there product.

The tweets are a little bright on the pioneers, but they sound so crisp! I have the opposite problem, my midbass is very lacking, the midrange is pretty much perfect.

I also just ordered the Morel Maximo 6's! I'm so excited, like orange said they are on a HUGE sale! I'll let you know how the midrange does on these.

found my issue! one of my mids is not playing....maybe a wire loose in the door. gonna check it out because these comps sounded pretty good b4 yesterday and have always kept up with my subs.

just got an idea....how about using one of the pioneer mids in the kickpanel, and buying a 6.5 midbass for the door. but then how could i crossover at about 350? bass blockers?

so far no complaints. Much cleaner sound than i expected. and get REALLY LOW! (given im tuned at 30hz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) Only have 2 in my car ATM gettin about 400rms each and on the right song they flex my sunroof and steering wheel a good bit. Definitely gonna have to end up with about 4 of em tho, these 2 are having a pretty hard time keeping up with my highs. (which i think is what may have caused me to think my highs were distorting today

anywhoo....i'd recommend these 8s to anyone. Im thinkin about either buyin an spl coiled one or gettin a custom 8 built for competitions.

haha nah man, I love the pioneers but I have a feeling these morels got it beat, I'm probably going to sell mine, or somehow make a cluster **** of the morels and the pioneers.

I'd have to hear those morels in person before i'd take my pioneers out for em. cuz today after i fixed that whole wiring problem, my pioneers came "back to life" it was like day and night. I'm thinking I still wanna change just for the heck of it but if i do it'll be something top notch but prob gonna do some deadening first and finish my sub stage that keeps gettin neglected lol

I wouldnt mind using my pioneers as midrange and getting a midbass too tho. its a thought.....jus gotta be able to block bass from the neer's and block highs from the midbass....

They are cool looking 8's but i'm going for more of a sq setup. probably not going to be in any comps ever. I thought about a couple tc epics , but i still dont know yet.
