Renting to own actually. Its a 3 bedroom 1 bath with a bunch of stuff remodeled in it. Front and backyard fenced in in a quiet culdesac. $70,000. Yall think this would be a good first house? Would be just me and my g/f moving in. Its in charlotte, nc about 13 miles from my work. Does anyone know if your renting to own do you have to pay taxes on the home while you rent or only after you own the home? Thanks for the help and comments.

houses in charlotte are starting to get cheaper because the property taxes keep going up. Where i live in waxhaw is growing alot and land in the past 2-3 years had went from $2000/acre to $38000/acre last i checked.

It's all a matter of what you agree upon regarding the taxes --- but it would be unusual for the rentor to pay the taxes. Ultimately, it would be the owner's responsibility regardless of what you agree upon since the taxes are in his name and the owner is the one who stands to lose ownership as the result of a tax sale.

just make sure you get it inspected real well.make sure the roof & wiring are ok,

i used to do handyman work for the past couple of years so i can usually spot bad stuff when i see it. Might have to get someone to check out the wiring though.
