think my alt can take it?

so im gonna push my stock alt (only 105 amps) well beyond its limits. first of all i have the big three done and for a battery i have one deka intimadator group 31. as of now im only pushing around 900 watts substage and 200 or so for components. im about to upgrade my substage amp to around 1500 watts rms. well i dont have the 500 or so dollars i need for the ho alt right now so how do you guys think ill be with this? i see very little voltage drop with the 1100 watts im using now the lowest ive seen my meter drop to was pob 13.5 but i usually stay in the low 14 range. its a little bit of a jump to 1700 watts rms tho so do you think ill be good until i can get a new alt?

You should be ok. If it drops below what you feel comfortable with, add a battery.

That is a jump. If you are already getting into the 13's as you are now, you may have to get a bigger amp. Common sense to me.

If you mean.........can the alt keep up.........it will be borderline. Your alt won't be what gets fvcked though...............it will be the amps. I would keep a close watch on the voltage. Maybe add a battery if you see anything below ~12v.

well i rarely see 13s at all only when im at full tilt and have other shit on etc. i usually dont dip into 13 if i do its only ever like 13.9 for the most part

no no i know sorry thats what imeant. i have a voltmeter wired at the amp so i can moniter it all the time

i think thats what ill do. im not gonna run this amp at full tilt for a while anyway i still have a while of break in on my sub so after i get everything running full power ill see whati drop too and go from there
