So I've been installing 4 speakers and a amp over the past week when I get off from work. Well somehow I hooked up the + and - backwards on the amp I just got. Long story short it doesn't work. I purchased it used and didn't have a way to test the amp before buying (yeah I know I'm a dummy). So I'm not sure if it ever worked in the first place. So with that said where would you send it to get fixed (east coast if possible). Or could I open it up and fix it myself? I'd need to know what to look for and what not. Any ideas? The amp is a alpine pdx 4.150

yeah its definitely blown, call up alpine and ask how much itll cost to repair - be honest and tell them you hooked up the pos/neg backwards, dont be embarrassed we get a lot of people who do that.

make sure you have +12v on the pos, and remote wire, and that you have a good ground before you pull it out.

Thanks.

I planned on calling them first. But was hoping I could find or someone could tell me of a local place that might be able to help me out.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.
