Quit being an ******* and cut him a ****in break Trey. The shop installed his shit. If the sub was BARELY being held onto the box (and in place) by the screws which were in the stripped holes how would he have noticed? I mean I would probably hear the difference if it fell out or something, but he fixed it himself anyways. He's not a dumbass. He is asking a valid question about what to listen for when you think your sub is damaged. Not his fault that he is new to this. All of us have been in this position and most of us have done FAR stupider things.

Stick around. Disregard the retards. Read ALL of the "stickied" threads at the top of each forum if you want to gain a really good knowledge base, and also not to have your head bitten off by posting stupid/redundant things that are mentioned in those stickies. Theres a lot to learn around here. I sure have learned a lot just the past few months. Wish I was here before i started spending money on car audio. Woulda had a pretty crazy system.

Yeah 1-1.5" long tapping screws don't just back out magically. I mean there are eight of them on a standard driver, more on some others...

If the shop didn't think it would hold on the box (due to the relocation of the holes or whatever) they should have made it known... "Hey we can't install your sub(s) because the box is bad you have to replace it..."

Instead they just installed the sub(s) in improper fashion and sent him on his way. Senseless IMO.

Did you find all the screws or were some missing? Because I find it hard to believe 8 screws just backed out completely and the sub just fell out just like that. Sounds like something wasn't done right. I mean even if the screws weren't fully driven I don't see how the sub could just fall right off the box like that.

No they had every other hole filled. so 4 screws fell out. Im kind of pissed about it. They should had done a better job.
