First of all, the assault weapons that they want to ban aren't any different than any other semi-autos.
Their purpose target shooting, competition, hunting, and self defense.

Are you proposing those be banned as well?

I'm not saying these weapons should/shouldn't be banned but you have to admit that guns original purpose was to kill. They may be used for target shooting, competition, hunting, and self defense(killing), but that was not their initial intent.

The things in your first post just happened to become weapons because people that can't get to guns still need something to kill with.

what about things that were made to kill, but are still legal? Why shouldn't we ban things like bows/crossbows, knives, swords, yo-yo's, they are originally meant to kill, so why not bad them if we're going to ban assault rifles?

I agree that the thought of some people having them is scary, I know I probably wouldn't snap because I just don't get angry about things, but I can see where people would worry. I just don't think most people don't realize that you can be just as deadly with any firearm as you could with an assault rifle. I guess they just want to ban them so people have their false sense of security.

agreed but in those causes how is it the guns (or the ability to own the gun) the problem. if they are gonna snap they are gonna snap. if they wanna kill someone and dont have a gun they will come up with some other whacked out way to kill a bunch of people.

I think if people think guns are so bad then get rid of all of them. You might not do as much damage with a pistol but you are essentially giving the same outcome. This is just a way of kind of getting rid of them but not pissing EVERYONE off.
