The Ultimate Decision???!!!

I have been offered one of two choices. Before I got my sound system, I really wanted to get my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 V8 5.9L suped up (supercharger, headers, ignition, air filter, performance chip, etc...) but my mom said I could get an incredible sound system instead. I ended up with 2 15L7s and plenty of amp power to back it. I play it loud every day and I love it. I am sure I am exposed to about 45 mins of 140+ DB almost every day. So, now my mom is worried I will lose my hearing, which will surely happen if I do not stop. She offered me the choice to sell all of my eq and in turn I could take all of that money ($4,000) + the money I have now ($1,500) to have a total of about $5,500 to spend on modding my truck. I know trying to make a big 4x4 truck may sound stupid compared to modding a Mustang or Camaro, but I just think it would be so cool taking a stock - lightly modified 4.6 Mustang down and having it eat my dust. So what do you guys think is more important I think is my real question: A really fast car, >6.0 Sec 0-60 or a very superior sound system and loss of hearing later on? I appreciate any and all opinions.

I would rather move my system into a faster car than trade it for one. I think its a no brainer, your system can play the whole time your in the car, while acceleration and top speed are only quick bursts, not to mention illegal.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif If the deal was trading in your Ram w/ the system for a Vette, then your talking about something completely different. Besides, you could always save and supe up your truck later.

I think you should listen to Rangerman, he's got his truck suped up and has a system, he should know which one is more enjoyable. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

While speed is fun, wesleysh is right it only comes and goes. Once you have hit the 125+ mark, its not too fun anymore. I had a 2000 SS Camaro 6-Speed (not mine) doing 130 and its just about like hitting 100 for the first time. I won't try with my truck now, I got too much in stake if a rock hits it!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yea it is just plain scary past 130. I had a twin turbo 300zx with all types of mods going around 145 in the nevada flats. Just plain scary. fastest car I have ever stepped foot in and will eat up a gt or cobra z or ss anyday.

Dude, I got a Ram, just ditch your old engine for a crate 360 from MOPAR, those things have 405 horse power, depending on what you get, and they'll only run you around $3,500.
