I have blown three sets of subs in under two years. The first set the surrounds separated from the cone, looked like the glue gave out. The second time The wire that runs from the speaker terminal to the woofer burnt into two pieces and the surround came unglued. The third set the wire from the speaker terminal to the speaker cone gave out again. Is this manufacturing problems or is it my set-up? I have a kenwood 600 watt peak amp running bridged with the wires running + to - and - to +. The subs are jbl speakers and are rated at 250 watts rms each and peak at 1000 watts. THe first and second set, when I turned the speakers up loud the bass would cut out prior to the speaker damage. Help is greatly appreciated. THe sound of the subs is geat. I don't notice any distortion, except on low quality downloaded songs. I tried a lightning audio amp with the same ratings and the speakers didn't sound as good and had a tendency to distort. I tried a cheap amp rated at 1,000 watts and it sounded worse than the lightning audio amp.

What's the verdict?

funny thing about cars. everybody makes fun of ford, when i know at least 60% of them have never owned one, or even driven one. anyways, i don't think i'd ever buy a $35,000 car. y would you buy that and then brag about how fast it goes? i paid $2500 for mine, so that leaves $32,500 for mods. i could be running 8's with that. and if i wanted a luxurious car, i would redo my dashboard myself, redo the suspension, new sparco or recaro seats, and fix everything that's wrong with my car. and that'll all cost less than $10,000. my friend is saving up to get a WRX. now, if i had millions to spend, sure, i'd get one. but y get one and then brag about the suspension, or how fast it goes, or anything about it. u can take some crap $500 car from a junkyard, dump $10,000 into it, and have a 10 sec. car worth bragging about that still costs less than that WRX. even if all u want is a daily driver car, y spend $20,000, when u can spend $5,000?

some people just dont get into doit yourself thing and its a lookie at what ive go tand most of all MONEY and what one can spend.

Since I like big cars....(my lincoln) and SUV's I would have to say a BMW X-5 sounds lovely...SO much more room to work with (car audio) wise.

Ummm you liking boobies is not the correct way for us to accumulate posts.....Has anyone seen the jbl 6,000watt amp? I think its called the beast does like 10,000 total watts...cost $6,000 what do you need with that? Im thinkin only in the comp lane very high class correct? Do you think you will see this bad boy in a daily driver?

no, you most likely wont see that in no daily driver... 1st off, its too big.. how mnay alternator would u need jus to run that 1 amp.. i know i have an orion xtrpro 2400, and the manual says it can draw up to 300 amp.. then this amp what like 800-1200 amps.. plus 6000$ i could buy like 3 of my cars for that,
