They are all brand new... new casings, new everything. Painstakingly hand assembled, I've watched him do one, it takes forever. They are sick units though, I've yet to see one fail. What kind of a warranty did he give you?

There are also 180 amp versions, which sell for a bit less, with a little better warranty. $400 CAD + ship for those I think. I'm runing the 180 amp in my car right now, it's decent even at idle. And they bench beyond what they are spec for. We benched the 200 amp at over 220 in my car, and the 180 at close to 200 I believe, so about 10% over. We use really small pulleys to get a lot of current out. They sound badass too, it whines like a supercharger when I accelerate.

This is a mechanical whine, the alt is definitely fine. It's been fine since I've had it in.

The smaller the pulley that you put on, the faster it is going to spin, and eventually it's going to start spinning so fast that it will start to whine, the same way a turbo or supercharger do

Well it's a whine, but probably not the same kind you are thinking of. Ever hear a supercharger? Sounds just like that. People who have ridden in my car have asked if it's blown/boosted.

Superchargers and turbos sound like a high pitched fast whirl to me, but sometimes like a whine. And when they are coming down (off a WOT) you can hear the whirl slow down. Maybe thats just the way I perceive it though. I dont know. Like one of those toys you blow in to make noise, that actually looks like a turbo. Maybe im just crazy.
