I really need to do some laundry, I'm on my last pair of underwear, a borrowed shirt, jeans that I need to be careful with or the fly will come open very fast, and socks with holes in them

Personally, I would be looking into small claims court

not at all. he has now refused to deal with me. small court will cost too much. i'll have to go to alabama and i don't have/time money to do that

How big is the alts that he's been shipping you?

Because one thing to think about is that the bigger you go, the worse your alt is going to perform at idle. Alternators with larger gauge windings (higher output), have a harder time charging at idle. Once you get into the 200+ amp range, this becomes more noticable. We had this problem in my car, and we swapped the stator for one with smaller windings, and the difference was huge. But that's no excuse for it not to work at driving RPM.

Another option would be for you to send it to us, and we could have a look and probably get it working... we've got a really nice alternator shop, and our stuff works, period.

So, I answered a thread in the WTB section today.. The guy is looking for a KCA-420i iPod adapter, and I happen to have one I'm not using anymore, so I reply and start working on the deal.. We settle on a price, $60, which is fine.. Then he wants to see pics which is understandable, so I send them.. Then he's asking if I can ship it out tomorrow, I say no problem.. Then he's asking with who and if it will come with a tracking number.. By this point I'm starting to get annoyed with all the questions over a $60 item, but I can understand he's looking out and wants to make sure his butt is covered..
Then he's wondering if he can send half the $$ now, and half later when it arrives.. I then tell him I've been around for 2.5 yrs and have over 2000 posts, and he has been around for just over 2 months and just over 100 posts and that I should be asking him for refs.. Anyways, I tell him he's being an idiot over $60, and no he can't do it that way.. He agrees that I am right and he's gonna send the full payment right away.. So then I get an email from paypal.. It's an echeck which isn't gonna clear for 3-4 business days from an unconfirmed address (he chose no shipping address and put his own in the comments field, a big red flag).. So I refunded his payment and told him to have the funds ready and get a confirmed address before we do business..

it works, but it doesn't charge at 14.4 like my stock did, and the alt guy said it is only putting out 160 amps
